Shopping Local This Holiday Season

The time has come to start thinking about shopping this holiday season! Given these difficult times it is more important than ever to shop local! We are so blessed to not only live in such a beautiful area, but to also be a part of a community with so many great places to eat, shop and adventure!

Instead of turning to the big box stores or the A-Word...(*cough* Amazon *cough*) shop in Plymouth or the surrounding towns to support your neighbors and local economy!

Did you know that, “When you shop local, you’re making a personal investment in your neighborhood and community. In fact, for every $100 spent, roughly $68 to $73 of it returns to local activity.

Money is kept in the community because locally-owned businesses often purchase from other local businesses, service providers, and [donate to local charities]. Purchasing local helps grow other businesses as well as our region’s tax base.

Whether you realize it or not, when you shop local you are individually stimulating the local economy with your support and in turn, helping shape your community’s unique character and personality.” To learn more benefits about shopping local click here!

Shopping for the Kiddos

Shopping for the little ones is as easy as walking Main Street!

I always suggest being properly fueled up first! Think grocery shopping on an empty stomach... not a great idea... so, stop into Café Monte Alto for a coffee or tea before you shop!

Every year I stop into Rand's Hardware to shop their great variety of Melissa & Doug toys! Always a hit! If there was ever a winter to get outside - this is it - so stop into Plymouth Ski & Sport for fabulous activewear for kids. Looking for great games and clothing for the little ones - check out Dressers Unlimited. Get the creative juices flowing with virtual art classes that can be gifted from Artistic Roots!

Gifting Experiences

One of my favorite things to gift during the holidays are experiences. One thing that people can't get enough of, especially now, is quality time. Quality time shared over a meal, having a spa day or taking a yoga class at your favorite yoga studio, like Satya Yoga Studio, with one of your closest pals is how memories are made.

Gift certificates are a great way to treat someone to something that they will cherish - whether they reimburse them now or save it for later... here are some ideas for experience gifting!

Do you have someone who is in need of a little self-care? Gift them

a trip to Chic Hair Boutique & Spa, Envy Nail Salon, Stella’s Hair Salon, or Thomas Roberts

Do you have a favorite person to Girls Night Out with - or a favorite dinner date? Gift them a future date to the MnM Scoops, The Panther Pub, Six Burner Bistro, Stir, or one of the other amazing restaurants in town.

Speaking of gifting to one of your favorite restaurants...
